Farm City
We had a great time at Farm City this year. Donkey cart rides, pony rides, farm animals, hay bale jumping and free food! The kids also enjoyed the pumpkin coloring contest, roping lessons and antique farm implement displays. Hope to make it back again next year!
Another Baby!
Found another new baby this time! The Siamang apes had a little one who was very elusive, but we finally managed to get a good look at him. Adorable!
Pumpkin Patch Fun
We had a fabulous trip to the pumpkin patch! Farm animals, pig races, corn maze, hay bale jumping, and of course choosing a pumpkin. Some of the parents even rode the “cow train” with the kids–talk about a bumpy ride! The biggest hit of the day was the corn box, where the kids thoroughly enjoyed jumping, diving and burying each other in dried corn. Can’t wait to go back next year!
New Tigers!
We were so excited to meet the new babies at the zoo this month: Tigers! Two adorable baby white bengals who romped and napped and seemed as fascinated with us as we were with them. So cute!
Funny Monkeys
The favorite animals from this month’s zoo visit were the tamarins. They were as interested in us as we were with them, and the kids loved “talking” with them and watching them observe us.
Paddling on Crystal Lake
We enjoyed the new paddle boats at the zoo this month, but it was HOT! We got there early and headed straight for the lake, glad to have our sunscreen and ice water. The kids loved the up-close view of the lake, turtles and birds.
Farm Day!
One of our members was nice enough to invite us to spend a beautiful spring day at her family’s farm! We learned about horses and went for a ride, then got a lesson on chickens and collected eggs. We also cuddled some bunnies and baby chicks, milked goats and helped feed an orphaned kid. 
Fun at Fort Toulouse
The kids loved exploring Fort Toulouse! We all had a great time hiking the trails, visiting the forts and identifying trees on our arboretum walk. After venturing out to see the river, we enjoyed a picnic under the trees in the perfect spring weather. Fun day!
Spring Break at the Zoo
Perfect spring day to visit the zoo…along with half the population of Montgomery and busloads of people from miles around! The kids were more interested in the playground than the animals at first, but enjoyed the intense activity at the chimp exhibit when we finally made it around that way.
Aping Around
Another great zoo day! With the cooler February weather, all the animals were very active. The siamang apes were as interested in us as we were with them! The kids enjoyed watching the baby ape swing around the habitat, but couldn’t figure out why he was so determined to reach the leaves outside the fence when there were plenty inside.
